Manicure Monday, blueberry polka dots...

Good morning everyone! I'm on study leave yaaaayy! As I have nothing to study for this morning (weird I know blame the school not me) I thought I would get my post in early and share with you my Monday manicure - blueberry polka dots:

Polka dots are soo cute, you may have guessed their my favourite, and so when I bought blueberry ice cream by Barry M in superdrug the other day, I just couldn't resist trying some polka dots. And it worked! This is exactly how I got this look...

Firstly these are the two exact shades I used:

Both by Barry M, I LOVE Barry M SOO much their one of my favourite make-up brands they are just so young and fun and vibrant I want like every single one of their nail paints, that's the dream anyways. You can buy these from Superdrug for £2.99 each:

Then the rest is pretty simples...

Oh I lied, I totally forgot you will also need a base coat if you wish, mine is also Barry M (shocker!) and I love this base coat so much, it stops the colour from staining my nails some vile colour that makes me look like an ogre. I just applied a quick base on all my nails like so.

The next step is to apply the Blueberry Ice Cream. Can I just say I only needed one coat of this varnish, it is such a beautiful colour and it's so bright, this was just the first coat and it looked absolutely amazing I was so pleased I picked it up.

Then you just need to wait for it to dry, this is what I love so much about the Barry M nail paints they dry soo quickly, like under a minute and their completely dry, you don't have to sit there waving around your hands like a loon!

The next step is to apply the white polka dots, you can use a dotting tool but I just use the brush that comes with it because their lovely and narrow and perfect for dotting! Make sure to try and even them out so they look professhh... I know it's hard believe me!

The next and probably final step of painting is to apply a nice glossy top coat to even it all out and protect them. I just used the Barry M base coat because it also acts as a top coat, handy! Make sure that you cover the whole nails and don't miss the sides.

The final step is just to inspect and admire and prepare yourself for the lovely comments and comments people give you, people always comment on how lovely my nails look when their polka dot, it's really nice!

And that's it for today everyone! I do hope you have enjoyed this post, if so do give it a little comment or you could even subscribe and listen to me on a more regular basis!;-) Whatever you do have a good day, thank you for reading, I love you all :-) Love Annie xxx

Manicure Monday - Pink and White Ombre nails.

Good afternoon everyone I hope all is well, today I am going to be showing you how I managed to give myself this Ombre Manicure:

I did this last week and this is the first time I've done Ombre with a white base before so I was a bit rubbish at start but I came back to the brink and made a good finish. Here is what you'll need if you would like to do this look yourself:

I used ELF Bubble Gum Pink for £2.50 buy here...,
Barry M Clear Matte for £2.99, buy here....,
Barry M matte white £2.99, buy here...,
and an average sponge from the Range, but you can get them from anywhere...

You don't have to use pink you can use any colour that you think would look good with white...

Step one is paint your nails white all over and wait for them to dry. It doesn't take that long.

Step 2 is to prep the sponge by painting a few big layers of varnish, the sponge soaks it up quickly so you do have to act fast!

The next step is to dab the sponge onto the nails. This photograph is awful because I could only use one hand but usually I use the sponge in the other hand.

This step involves inspecting and analysing the fist layer to see which parts need a bit more varnish.

Keep applying layers getting darker towards the tips of the nails until you're satisfied.

Step Six is easy, you apply a nice top goat just to give it some shine and protect the colours.

Step seven is enjoy the nails, and also enjoy the compliments!

And that is it for today everyone I do hope you've liked this post if you have please feel free to comment and don't forget you can always subscribe to this blog so that you can read my posts on a daily basis! What do you think? Let me know. As always thank you for reading and I shall see you all very soon :-)

Manicure Monday - Pink Polka Dot nails.

Hola everyone! Now before you tell me that it's not Monday, I do know, I am sane I swear. I was so busy yesterday revising because today I had three GCSE exams and so yesterday was slightly more full on, so I took the photographs of my manciure and I thought that I would show you all today instead. Sorry!

Here are my cute little summery Barry M polka dot nails. I used the colours Strawberry Ice Cream and Matte white to complete this look. I began by layering on the pink and then dotted the white on top. It was super straight forward and people have been complimenting my nails all day!

You can buy these nail varnishes for £2.99 from Superdrug. Buy here...

Here is helpful little nail illustration I drew to help you guys out... :-)

What do you think? Let me know. If you have enjoyed this post please comment or subscribe as it really does make me a happy chappy. Thank you for reading, love Annie :-) xxx

Manicure Monday - Spring is in the air...

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you have all had a marvellous Monday! Tradition holds that on Monday I show you my manicure, and so today I thought I would go with a Spring theme and wear 'Spring Green' by Barry M. Most of you have probably gathered that I'm quite the Barry M fan and so I decided before I hit the beach Sunday that I would match my polish with my wellies, weird I know but you only live once. I got to paint them out in the sun for once it was so lovely and I hope you enjoy them!:-)

This colour was really bold, to get this colour it took a measly two coats which I think is pretty good fairplay! I applied the barry m base coat first and it seems to have worked out fine, they haven't even died my nails green! Thank you for reading and I will see you all very soon! Love Annie :-)xx

Manicure Monday - Lovin' Lemons with lemon nails!

Good day everyone!:-) I hope you all survived your Monday and I hope that the weather hasn't been too bad on you guys. Of course it's a Monday which can only mean manicures! Today I am wearing a beautiful lemon yellow colour - it's called LEMON ICE CREAM by Barry M. Buy here...

In the third photograph, the nails look quite yellow-y I think that was just the light because it is actually more lemon than full on yellow. The only problems with this is that I had to LAYER this varnish a heck of a lot of times to get it to where it is now, and I mean ALOT I didn't even keep count. This meant that my nails took FOREVER to dry which was a bit of a let down because I'm used to Barry M being really vibrant and fuss free, but the colour is spectacular so it's worth the anguish!
Thanks for reading everyone and I shall see you all very soon with a new blog post, don't forget to share and subscribe and even if you have Tumblr, you can follow me on Tumblr too! Follow ToadRoadFashion on Tumblr...  Follow ME on Tumblr.... Have a lovely day!:-) xxx
