Monday Manicure - Parlez-vous français?

Good afternoonies everyone, I hope you have all enjoyed your Monday (if that is even possible), usually on Mondays I share with you my manicure  and today I went for a really classic, academic, CLEAN, manicure - The French Manicure.
I have tried all kinds of french manicures in the past, my favourites being Sally Hansen 'barely there' and Barry M's nude and white nail paints.

The photographs aren't totally clear, but this manicure is just so simple and clean and that's what I love about it. Really good for school/college as their not super bright and so don't pull loads of attention to yourself.

Just in case your curious, this manicure was done using my favourite nail varnish brand (you may have noticed) Barry M, I used their Nude and their Matte White.
(Both £2.99)

And that's it for today everyone, I do hope you hav enjoyed this, if you did please subscribe and comment below, I do love a good comment now and then;) I thought I should let you know that I have been busy all day yesterday (should of been revising woops!) html'ing my new blog, it's looking great and all will be revealed very soon! Thank you for reading, love Annie :-)xx

Saturday Cosmetics Review - Using my ELF Marble Pallette.

Hello lovelies I hope you have enjoyed your Saturday as much as I have. As it is a Saturday I usually dedicate this marvellous day to cosmetics, beauty and make up. Many of you may have seen in my ELF haul that I bought a 100 PC eyeshadow palette by ELF, and earlier this week I put this pallette to the test and made the following two looks using an eyeshadow base and a couple of eyeliners:

The first look was a black, punk(ish) smokey eye inspired by the Catwalks of 2013 (e.g Dior). The black eyeshadows in the pallette were really pigmented and great, and their glitter eyeshadows were even better! I cannot rave about one of the black glitter shades any more it was just spectacular.

This second look looked soo much better in real-life (if that makes sense) the lighting and photograph did not do this makeup justice it looked AMAZING. I took my inspiration from Sephora's tutorial on Tumblr, and although the white eyeshadow wasn't very bright, I was very impressed with all the blues.

I need more practise drawing beauty sketches me thinks...

LIST OF PRODUCTS USED:
Elf Marble Pallette.
Marlins blue and white eyeliners, (I bought these abroad for a couple of euros).
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Show Off Mascara.
L'Oreal Paris Black Eyeliner.

I hope you liked everyone, and I will see you all most probably tomorrow or Monday, I hope you have a great weekend, I love you all, don't forget to comment and subscribe!;) From Annie :)xx

Out of the two looks, which is your favourite?

Friday Dress Special - Feeling like a superhero?

Afternoon everyone I hope you have all had a splendid week! I am so pleased it's Friday, because it means I get to talk with you all about dresses! So tradition has it that every Friday I would share with you a dress that I liked/enjoyed and basically I offer the dress to you, and I get back loads of different opinions in return and it's all just very dressy!
Todays dress comes from ZARA, which has always been one of those shops where I love to go for a mooch, but I never really come out with anything - I just like to be nosy basically, but I saw this dress and I thought 'hey that's different' and it is this baby:
Cape dresses are back yaay! Buy this dress here...
I have always been fascinated by cape sleeves maybe it's because their just so unique and different. It comes in this lovely shade called 'Fuschia' and then there's a beautiful yellow shade, and if I had to choose between the two, I would choose the yellow, it's just so bright and out there I love it.

What do you think guys? As always let me know, and I will look forward to seeing you all very soon!:-) Don't forget you can always subscribe to ToadRoadFashion, just follow the link in the sidebar. Thank you all for reading! Love Annie :-)xx

Declaration of my love for Hollister + New collection favourites.

Good afternoon/ evening everyone, today is going to be the day that I tell you secret, well it's not very secret because I feature this brand quite often in my blog, and that is that I LOVE Hollister California. In fact love is most probably and understatement I absolutely love Hollsiter with my whole entire heart to the moon and back. I love everything about it, I love their fit and I feel like their clothes just really suit me, I feel really comfortable in their clothes. It's got to be my favourite shop, although Hollister isn't necessarily trendy, and if I want to buy more fashionable trendy clothes, then I go to New Look or H and M or ASOS, but otherwise I love Hollister.
Hollister has a new Summer range and so I thought today I would declare my love and share with you my favourites from the collection.

The first look I fell in love with is their Shorts and Swim, a mixture of shorts and bikinis.

This look is perfect for if your on holiday, and if you're conscious in your bikini bottoms, this is  a sneaky but fashionable way to cover up those upper thighs and bottoms.

The second look is nice and summery, but I have to admit I do hate my shoulders and my arms are very skinny and scrawny so I don't know how this will look on me, but I definitely want to try the bandeau and vest top look - certainly will be purchasing this look.

This look is so effortless and summery I love it!
Shop this look...

Here are some of my other favourite looks...

One of my favourites and I will be certainly purchasing these with my next order are their yoga shorts. I was upset when their previous shorts with 'HOLLISTER' printed on the backside were sold out, but their new collection is just as nice and so I will be repurchasing.
Lovely and short, and athletic. Shop this collection...

And finally this jacket, may just have to be a desire of mine because I have no idea when or what I would wear with this - not very practical for me, but it is just so beautiful and sleek that it had to make my favourites.

And that's it for today friends, I hope you have enjoyed reading this post as much as I have enjoyed making it, if you have any questions or observations please feel free to comment, and I will see you all very soon! Thank you for reading, love Annie :-) xxx

What's your favourite thing in the hollister store?

Manicure Monday - Spring is in the air...

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you have all had a marvellous Monday! Tradition holds that on Monday I show you my manicure, and so today I thought I would go with a Spring theme and wear 'Spring Green' by Barry M. Most of you have probably gathered that I'm quite the Barry M fan and so I decided before I hit the beach Sunday that I would match my polish with my wellies, weird I know but you only live once. I got to paint them out in the sun for once it was so lovely and I hope you enjoy them!:-)

This colour was really bold, to get this colour it took a measly two coats which I think is pretty good fairplay! I applied the barry m base coat first and it seems to have worked out fine, they haven't even died my nails green! Thank you for reading and I will see you all very soon! Love Annie :-)xx

What manicure do you have today?

Launch of Sentence Sunday - A trip to the beach in Sebastian the Camper van.

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday. I come bearing some rather exciting news, the launch of a new 'thing!' I decided that Sunday's will now become 'Sentence Sunday' where I will only share with you one sentence of writing, and let photographs to the rest of the talking. I am not the best photographer but I think it will be quite refreshing if on Sundays I focus of photographs and outings instead of essays and essays of writing. Like the idea? Let me know. :-)

Sunday/21st of April 2013: My trip to the beach.

I hope you have enjoyed  feel free to comment below, see you all very soon :-) Love Annie xx

The Saturday Cosmetics Review - The best heat defence I have ever used?

Good evening everyone I hope  you have all had an amazing weekend, today I am going to be reviewing what is most probably the best heat defence I have ever used. I have curly, dyed, fragile hair and so protecting my hair is a major must when it comes to heat styling.
And the winner of current best heat defence goes to...

Photographs taken myself.
Yes, the coveted heat protector is 'Studio Silk & Gloss Hot Straight Spray' by L'Oreal Paris. It is my favourite and most effective heat defence, I have tested a number of defences in my day and so I think I am completely qualified to give my opinion!

The packaging is pretty standard, nice and pink, I do love how the bottle is slightly transparent which is perfect because I can see how much product is left - EXCELLENT!

The size of the bottle and the easiness of the spray bottle.

The spray bottle.
The solution is dispensed as a mist which is unusual because it comes out almost as a frooffy foam, a mist of silky bubbliness, it's hard to describe - it's not like any other heat defence.

The product in just dispensed onto my hair.
I like to smother my hair with defence spray, so it's almost dripping - maximum protection...
Product dried into the hair.
As you can see the product dries really nicely, this was after about 5 minutes, completely dry - much faster than any other defence I've tried.

I have used my GHD hair straighteners - not a single split end.

I have used my Toni and Guy jumbo curlers on my protected hair, only spotted one or two splits.

Packaging - 5/5 - You can see how much product you've used.
Product - 4.95/5 - Unique and usable, works very well even with curlers.
Dry time? - 4/5 - Up to 5-15 minutes depending on how drenched it is!!
Overall happiness - 5/5. My favorite heat protector so far :-).
SO overall this product is a misty magical wonder which protects your hair perfectly, the packaging is very efficient and the product dries quickly and effectively  And for a tiny weeny £3.55 ( and even cheaper on offer!;-) ) I cannot rave about this product any more, 5/5!:)  Buy this product...
Thanks for reading and I will see you all very soon! Love Annie :-) xx

What heat defence do you use?
